Parents
Hello Husky Crew parents!! Whether you’ve been following the Husky crew for a while or are new to Husky rowing, you may have some questions. Do you know the best places to gather at races to cheer on the Huskies, where to eat, where to stay? Are you interested in volunteering to set up tents and spectator food at out of town races? Do you want to get involved in some other way?
I’m here to help. My name is Sally Struzyna and I’m the parent contact and coordinator for the 2009-2010 season. My husband Dieter and I have two husky rowers; a son who is a junior and a daughter who is a freshman. If I can answer any questions or help in any other way, please email me at sallystruzyna@msn.com. Likewise, if you are able to help with tents or spectator food (particularly if you live near or will be traveling to Redwood Shores, California; Lake Natoma/Rancho Cordova, California; Cooper River/ Cherry Hill, New Jersey), I’d love to hear from you. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other parents and alums and become part of the Husky experience.
Looking forward to a fantastic season!
Sally

The cost is $40.00 per person. You can also help defray the costs of this event by becoming a “sponsor” at the $65.00 level, or “patron” at the $100.00 level.
The
freshman rowers usually eat downstairs and come up to enjoy the program. In
keeping with Husky tradition, the men will have cut their hair...the challenge
is to see if you can recognize your rower! This is a fantastic opportunity to
meet other parents and support the amazing success of Washington rowing.
Class Day Races
Saturday, March 27: Lake Washington and Montlake Cut
Watch the men and women of each class race against each other in this high energy, class pride scrimmage! Can the freshman men and women beat the upperclassmen? Come see for yourself who will be this year’s champion and earn the Seattle Times and George Varnell trophies. The class day races begin at 9:00 am.
What could be better than having croissants, fresh fruit, and coffee while watching the class day races - all from the comfort of the decks of the Argosy Goodtime II vessel? Absolutely nothing!
Coaches Ernst and Callahan will provide color commentary as the Goodtime II tails the first 1500 M of each race. You will enjoy an amazing vantage point while watching the races. Yes...if it’s raining, you can stay warm and dry and take photos of your rowers.
8:15 am – 11:00am: Boards promptly @ 8AM.
Attire: Casual (be prepared for Seattle weather).
